"Duta Wacana" in Sanskrit conveys an approximate meaning of being 'an ambassador for knowledge' or 'a messenger of the word'.According to Webometrics World Universities' Ranking on the Web 2007, DWCU is ranked at 89th place among Southeast Asian universities.DWCU is one of the 15 Indonesian universities in the SAP University Partnership Program.
Objective: This study examines: (1) the influence of product attractiveness and digital promotion innovation on consumer preference; (2) the effect of consumer preference on digital advocacy leverage; and (3) the impact of consumer preference and digital advocacy leverage on marketing performance (sales growth) among university-incubated culinary startups in Indonesia. Research Design & Methods: A purposive sampling technique was applied, yielding 262 respondents. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS software. Findings: The results show that product attractiveness and digital promotion innovation significantly strengthen consumer preference. Consumer preference significantly influences both digital advocacy leverage and sales growth, confirming its central role within the Consumer 5A framework. Digital advocacy leverage also positively affects sales growth. However, digital promotion innovation does not directly influence digital advocacy leverage, indicating that advocacy arises from consumer preference and experience rather than promotional novelty alone. Implications & Recommendations: University-incubated culinary startups should: (i) prioritize sensory validation and consistent product and packaging quality to reinforce the Appeal → Preference pathway; (ii) align short-form, personalized, and influencer-supported digital content with the product’s value proposition; and (iii) implement post-advocacy conversion mechanisms—such as review prompts, referral programs, curated user-generated content, and seamless ordering links—to convert advocacy into measurable sales. Contribution & Value Added: This study demonstrates that consumer preference is the key bridge linking product attractiveness and digital promotion to e-advocacy and sales performance, with digital promotion influencing advocacy only indirectly, offering actionable insights for incubator-based startup development.
Abstract This study explores the roles of the wunang and the priest in the Belis wedding ceremony tradition in East Sumba. For the Sumbanese, Belis is an essential cultural institution that strengthens family bonds. The wunang functions as a mediator between families in reaching agreements, while the priest represents the Church, offering prayers and blessing the marriage. Using cultural anthropology and contextual theology, this research examines how both figures interact in sustaining the Belis tradition within contemporary society. The findings indicate a dialogical bridge between Marapu beliefs and Christian theology. Their collaboration reflects a symbiotic relationship that not only legitimizes marriage but also preserves local cultural values. The study recommends redefining and strengthening the roles of both the wunang and the priest to ensure that Belis remains a vital part of Sumba’s cultural heritage.
Peace education serves as a critical intervention against the rising tide of religious intolerance and polarization in Indonesia, forces that directly threaten societal well-being and peace, particularly within the higher education context. This quantitative study investigates how students’ perceptions of peace education predict their reported levels of tolerance. Utilizing regression analysis of survey data collected from undergraduate students at both a Christian university (Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana) and an Islamic university (Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Results demonstrated that peace education significantly predicts tolerance, showing the strongest association with empathy (R-squared = 0.547), far outpacing its predictive power on fairness (29.7%) and reasonableness (48.1%). This reinforces the value of interactive and experiential pedagogies as strong statistical predictors of affective relational change. This high-capacity empathy constitutes the critical nexus for recognizing and honouring the inherent dignity of the religiously other, thereby fulfilling the theological imperative for reconciliation, depolarization, and co-creating holistic peace in a pluralistic society. The article concludes by emphasising the imperative for higher education to adopt empathy-centred curricula intentionally, thereby equipping graduates for relational human flourishing.
Inflammation is a complex biological response that eliminates harmful stimuli, clears damaged tissues, and initiates healing. Protein denaturation is known to trigger inflammatory reactions and is associated with chronic disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus erythematosus, and serum sickness. Although steroidal and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are widely used, their long-term use may cause adverse effects. Herbal plants represent potential alternative therapies with fewer side effects. This study examined the anti-inflammatory potential of Scurrula atropurpurea, a hemiparasitic plant traditionally used for various medicinal purposes. The ethanolic leaf extract was evaluated for its phytochemical composition, antioxidant properties, and ability to inhibit egg albumin denaturation in vitro. Fresh leaves were collected from tea plants in Sapuran, Wonosobo, and extracted using Soxhlet with 96% ethanol. Phytochemical screening indicated the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, phenolics, saponins, steroids, and terpenoids. Quantitative analysis showed a high total phenolic content (126.10 ± 1.5 mg GAE/g extract), moderate tannins, and relatively low flavonoids. The extract demonstrated weak antioxidant activity (IC50 = 140.4 ± 4.9 µg/mL) and minimal protein denaturation inhibition (maximum 1.51% at 100 ppm), significantly lower than sodium diclofenac as a positive control. Overall, the ethanolic extract of S. atropurpurea leaves exhibited low in vitro anti-inflammatory activity, suggesting the need for further investigation using alternative extraction methods, plant parts, or host species.
