Sacha inchi (Plukenetia volubilis L.) seed oil is a promising bioactive ingredient for topical applications due to its high content of essential fatty acids and antioxidants; however, its hydrophobic nature limits formulation stability and performance. This study aimed to develop and optimize an emulgel delivery system using a systematic mixture design approach to enhance its physicochemical characteristics. A Simplex Lattice Design (SLD) was applied to evaluate the combined effects of Tween 80 (1-5%) and Span 80 (1-5%) on key responses, including pH, viscosity, and adhesion. Emulgel formulations were prepared using a conventional emulsification method followed by incorporation into a gel base, then evaluated accordingly. Data were analyzed using Design Expert® software and ANOVA. The results showed that all formulations met the acceptable criteria for topical application, with pH (5.40–6.30), viscosity (25.1–61.2 P), and adhesion (1.46–3.5 s). Statistical analysis revealed a significant (p < 0.05) and non-linear interaction between surfactants across all responses, indicating the critical role of compositional balance. The optimized formulation, containing 5% Tween 80 and 1% Span 80, achieved a desirability value of 1.00. Overall, the SLD approach proved effective for optimizing emulgel formulations and enhancing the potential of sacha inchi oil as a stable topical delivery system.
Street children in Indonesia face multiple health challenges including malnutrition and poor sanitation. This study aimed to investigate the potential synergistic effect of food insecurity and open defecation on wasting among street children while also considering factors such as self-esteem and inflammation markers. A cross-sectional study was conducted from April to August 2023 in three urban areas of East Java Province, Indonesia, involving 116 street children aged 10–18 years. Wasting was defined as a weight-for-height Z-score (WHZ) below − 2 SDs. Food insecurity, self-esteem, and open defecation behaviors were assessed using standardized scales and questionnaires. The Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR), an inflammation marker, was calculated as the ratio of neutrophils to lymphocytes in blood samples. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Chi-square or Fisher’s exact tests, multiple logistic regression, and additive interaction analysis. The prevalence of wasting was 19.8
Background: Removing the smear layer is a critical step in root canal treatment. A 17% ethylenediaminetetra acetic acid (EDTA) solution is frequently utilized as an irrigation solution; however, EDTA can cause excessive loss of calcium ions from the root dentin and may reduce dentin hardness. The potential effectiveness of bromelain in removing the smear layer within the root canal walls has not yet been extensively studied. Purpose: This research intended to assess the effectiveness of bromelain derived from a pineapple core in its capacity to eliminate the smear layer after root canal treatment Methods: Twenty one mandibular premolar were instrumented and randomly assigned to seven groups according to the irrigation protocol: Group I (aquadest), Group II (17% EDTA), Group III (12.5% bromelain), Group IV (25% bromelain), Group V (50% bromelain), Group VI (75% bromelain), and Group VII (100% bromelain). Smear layer removal was evaluated using SEM. A Kruskal Wallis test was was used for intragroup comparisons and a Mann-Whitney U test for intergroup comparisons, where a p-value < 0.05 was considered significant. Results: Notable variations were noted between the distilled water group and those treated with 25% and 50% bromelain. A notable difference was evident between the 17% EDTA group and those given bromelain at 12.5%, 75%, and 100% concentrations, while no significant difference was found with the groups receiving 25% and 50% concentrations. Conclusion: Bromelain derived from pineapple core extract effectively eliminates the smear layer from the root canal.
The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the extent to which the internalization of inclusive organizational culture variables influence the work-life well-being of Generation Z employees with job satisfaction variables as moderating variables. The subjects of this study were 100 Generation Z employees in several companies. The variables in this study are endogenous variables, namely the internalization of inclusive organizational culture, exogenous variables, namely the work-life well-being variable of Generation Z employees and the mediating variable is the job satisfaction variable. The data collection technique was by submitting questionnaires to research objects to Generation Z employees in several companies and through documentation studies of 100 Generation Z employees in several companies. The research method used a quantitative descriptive method, data analysis using the structural equation model (SEM) method. The results of data processing with the SEM method were carried out using the PLS 4.0 application, and data collection techniques were carried out by observation and distribution of questionnaires. From the research results, the existing conclusions are that partially the internalization variable of inclusive organizational culture influences the work-life well-being of Generation Z employees in several companies, the job satisfaction variable influences the work-life well-being of Generation Z employees in several companies, while simultaneously the internalization variable of inclusive organizational culture influences the work-life well-being of Generation Z employees in several companies with the job satisfaction variable as a moderating variable.
