Ministry of Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (abbrievated as Kemenristek, or RISTEK-BRIN on its logo) was a government ministry that has the task of conducting affairs in the field of research, science and technology to assist the President of Indonesia in carrying out state. The ministry was formerly known as the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia.
This study evaluates the structural performance of electric motorcycle frames made of 6061 aluminium alloy and filament winding-based composites using the Finite Element Method (FEM) approach. The main objective of this study is to compare the deformation response, stress distribution, and safety factors of both materials in the same frame geometry and loading conditions, so that the influence of material characteristics on structural behaviour can be analysed objectively. FEM simulations were performed with static loading representing vehicle operating conditions, while aluminium was modelled as isotropic and composite as orthotropic to capture its anisotropic properties. The analysis results show that filament winding composite chassis tend to have more controlled deformation and higher safety factors than 6061 aluminium alloy, although the stress distribution in composites shows sensitivity to fibre configuration and profile thickness. These findings indicate that fibre orientation plays an important role in directing structural stiffness and load distribution in composite chassis. However, the interpretation of stress results and safety factors in composites needs to be done carefully because the Von Mises criteria have limitations in representing anisotropic material failure. The main contribution of this research lies in presenting a controlled structural comparison between metal and filament winding composite materials, as well as confirming the potential and limitations of composites as materials for electric vehicle chassis.
Effectiveness of Project-Based Inquiry Learning in Developing HOTS-Based Scientific Literacy: Moderated by Science Process Skill. Objectives: This study examines three core questions: (1) whether the Project-Based Inquiry (PBI) model improves students’ HOTS scientific literacy, (2) whether students’ initial Science Process Skills (SPS) influence their outcomes, and (3) whether there is an interaction between the two. These variables were selected because HOTS-based scientific literacy and SPS are essential competencies for prospective elementary teachers. Methods: A quasi-experimental design was used with two naturally formed groups. The experimental group learned through the project-based inquiry model, while the control group used guided inquiry. Data were collected using a project assessment sheet and the HOTS scientific literacy test, with identical pre- and post-tests administered. The data were analyzed using: 1) Normality and homogeneity test, 2) Paired sample t-test, 3) Independent sample t-test, and 4) Hypothesis testing was carried out using two-way ANOVA, where H₀ was rejected if the significance value was <0.05. Findings: The analysis for the learning model factor yielded a highly significant result (p = 0.000; < 0.05). The results show that the learning model had a significant effect on HOTS scientific literacy, with the PBI model outperforming guided inquiry (p = 0.000). SPS level did not produce a significant independent effect (p = 0.562), and no interaction was found between the learning model and SPS. These findings indicate that the PBI model is the primary factor driving students’ improvement. Conclusion: Overall, Project-Based Inquiry is an effective approach to strengthening HOTS scientific literacy among prospective elementary teachers. Although SPS levels did not independently influence outcomes, students across SPS levels still benefited from PBI. These findings offer theoretical insight into how inquiry–project learning supports higher-order reasoning and provide practical guidance for developing instructional designs that foster analytical and evidence-based thinking in teacher education programs. Keywords: project-based inquiry, guided inquiry, science process skill, hots, scientific literacy, science education.
This study aims to evaluate the effect of adding green mussel shell powder (CKH) on the fire resistance of Fiberglass composite materials used in fishing vessel hulls under 5 GT. The composite was made using the hand lay-up method with variations in CKH composition of 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, and 50%. Testing was carried out using the ASTM D635 standard to determine the burning rate. Statistical analysis using logistic regression to determine the linear relationship between variables. Statistically, logistic regression states a p-value <0.05 and is suitable as a reference model to determine the value of CKH powder composition with the burning rate of the material. This study shows that specimens with the addition of 20% CKH increase fire resistance by 8.56% (13.10 mm/min), while the addition of 50% CKH increases up to 19.92% (11.47 mm/min). So that the more CKH composition additions can increase the fire resistance of the material. These results indicate that CKH waste has the potential as an environmentally friendly additive that improves ship safety.
Implikasi kebijakan menekankan perlunya reformasi kelembagaan, peningkatan kapasitas SDM, dan penguatan infrastruktur pada provinsi berpotensi tinggi namun berkinerja rendah, dengan penerapan model place-based development yang adaptif terhadap karakteristik regional.title: Composite Indicator of Regional Potential for Investment in the Fisheries SectorSpatial disparities in fisheries investment potential across Indonesia necessitate comprehensive and multidimensional measurement instruments. This study develops a composite indicator to assess regional fisheries investment potential by integrating blue economy principles and place-based development approaches. Utilizing secondary data from 2016-2020 covering 33 Indonesian provinces, this research employs Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to identify and weight 19 strategic indicators categorized into six dimensions: economic, financial, infrastructure-logistics, environmental, socio-demographic, and institutional. The findings reveal significant spatial inequalities, with composite indicator scores ranging from 0.056 (Jambi) to 0.742 (East Java). The socio-demographic dimension (weight 0.286) and institutional dimension (weight 0.273) emerged as key determinants of regional competitiveness. The novelty of this research lies in integrating PCA-based multidimensional approaches with blue economy principles in Indonesia’s spatial context, and identifying the “potential-performance paradox” where provinces with abundant fisheries resources demonstrate low composite indicator scores. Policy implications emphasize institutional reforms, human resource capacity building, and infrastructure strengthening in high-potential but low-performing provinces, through adaptive place-based development models responsive to regional characteristics.
