In this paper, we report a 12-week longitudinal study aiming at exploring the students’ reading outcome and cognitive load with individual-based print, mobile app of Rain Classroom and collaboration-based social media of WeChat. Administered to 186 postgraduate students in a research university were the weekly reading materials and comprehension tests, together with the self-designed CLCR scale after the reading sessions. A combination of one-way and repeated measures ANOVA along with multi-regression analysis showed that social media produced the best reading outcome; The same pattern occurred about enhanced reading outcome in the initial sessions followed by a decline at the end; Reading outcome in print other than in mobile and social media significantly increased from the first session to the ending session; Reading in mobile generated the highest level of extraneous, intrinsic, and germane load; Multi-regression analysis showed a negative relationship between intrinsic load and the prediction of collaborative reading across all the reading contexts. Further efforts may contribute to more complex patterns of reading outcome and cognitive load status by arranging individual- and collaboration-based contexts in different sequences for students with high and low level of cognitive load.
在观点挖掘研究中,SentiWordNet是一部非常有影响力的英文电子情感词典.它基于情感词的义项进行"三性合一"的极性标注,并采用机器学习的方法自动计算极性的强度.借鉴SentiWordNet,当前《壮汉英词典》可以增补壮语情感词极性标注的方法;《现代汉语词典》的褒贬因子计数法存在局限性,并在逻辑起点、同义词集等方面也可以进一步修改.这两个有代表性的个案说明,SentiWordNet对于改进我国语文词典的情感词标注具有一定的参考与借鉴价值.
A plethora of previous literature generated the mixture of results by comparing the reading outcome between digital and printed contexts. Further, the cross-sectional study above failed to yield the findings about the multi-session per-formance over a prolonged period of time as the reading activities proceeded. To address the gap, this study further explored the reading performance over a period of 12 weeks by designing the four-session frames for three different reading contexts of print, mobile and social media. Reading performance scores were gathered from186 postgraduate students from a research university in P.R. China. One-way ANOVA was conducted to compare the reading outcome among three reading contexts within each temporal session. The integrated statistical results showed that reading in social media produced the highest performance and reading in mobile the lowest performance across all the four temporal ses-sions. Longitudinal study revealed the consistency of reading performance in social media and in mobile with respectively high and low caliber over the four the reading sessions. Reading in print generated the performance in be-tween except in the second temporal session. Future efforts could direct to the comparison of text length between short and long with different textual genres.

在翻译范式研究中,一个亟待加强的研究领域是机器翻译.本文结合机器翻译发展史,考察三种机器翻译研究范式——基于规则的机器翻译、基于语料库的机器翻译和神经机器翻译.研究发现:(1)基于语料库的机器翻译存在局限性,其译文质量已逊于神经机器翻译;(2)神经机器翻范式并非用某种语言学理论可以完全涵括.这项研究对于辩证地认识译界盛行的"语料库+统计"研究范式以及探究未来翻译范式发展趋势具有一定价值和意义.

When systemic functional linguistics is used in natural language generation systems, it needs knowledge representa-tion. Focusing on Penman, this paper finds that a major representation method is the system network. However, this knowledge representation method cannot fully represent the communication goal of language and the organization principle of three meta-functions. Besides, there also exist some technical flaws when it is implemented in computer. Based on this, this paper puts forward two basic ways to improve the system network: the theoretical approach which is based on complex science and the technical approach which is based on artificial intelligence. Through this research, this paper is to develop the communication between systemic functional linguistics and other subjects, thus promoting the linguistic research oriented in natural language processing.
Since Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) was created over half a century ago ,one of its important applications lies in natural language processing .Researchers have done many researches on this subject ,so it’s quite necessary summarizing the devel-oping trace .This paper ,relative comprehensively ,introduces SFL’s application in mechanical translation ,parsing ,natural lan-guage generation and dialogue systems .Retrospecting the history of computerization of SFL helps find theoretical flaws and perfect it-self .

In the field of multimodal discourse analysis(MDA), a new method is GeM proposed by John. A. Bateman in2008. The model is a linguistic method linked with layout design and computer techniques, aiming to scientifically analyze the page and document and index the related multimodal corpus for querying. In China, however, the introduction is incomplete and the application is limited into the text structure of microblogs. Therefore, it is necessary to explore in depth the working mechanism of the GeM model and its parts; and we may get a clear perspective of its future applications in big data mining, foreign language teaching, and design. Therefore, this research tries to attract the attention of more Chinese scholars to study and apply this new MDA method.
The paper researches into the thesaurus method proposed by M.A.K.Halliday. It mainly includes: 1) Halliday’s view of machine translation;2) Principles and layout of thesaurus, and 3) Application of the thesaurus method in machine translation. Hal?liday believes that it is necessary to study machine translation in the perspectives of level and system, because context is as impor?tant as lexical and grammar if an idiomatic translation is required. The main purpose of this research is to extract the method of post-editing and bilingual alignment, which will accelerate the application of Systemic Functional Grammar in statistical machine translation.

Based on the investigation of 127 high-frequency adjectives in Modern Chinese Standard Dictionary,this paper proposes a conceptual model "Entity-Attribute-Value" for modern Chinese adjectives.This model can be used to compile a(bilingual) adjectival pedagogical e-dictionary for the purpose of computer-aided CFL.The significance of research lies mainly in its auto-convertion of an e-dictionary.Generally,this approach can be extended into compile an e-dictionary of other languages to save money and labor.

Systematic functional grammar is widely used in NLP,which stimulates the formalization of the theory itself.After Nigel,Elke Teich proposed a new method called Dependency SFG to overcome "syntagmatic gap" in SFG and Nigel.However,this method was limited in both theoretical framework and experiment.With the rise of connectionism,a more prevailing paradigm is to represent different strata and axises of SFG in neural networks.

The paper addresses the common rules of listening and reading comprehension in CET Band 4 by exploring 3 types of semantic relationships. Putting chunk as the basic unit, the research extends from the semantic meaning of lexical items, grammar to text. The sample questions and answers demonstrated in the paper reveal the feasibility and objectivity of the approach. The authors foresee its applicability for the teachers of combining lexical ,grammatical and textual analysis and for the students taking Band 4 Exam where 3 main semantic relationships cover up to 60% in the sections of listening and reading comprehension.
