For the drying and treatment of waterishlogged books, the traditional methods usually adopted in China are the vacuum freeze drying technique and hot air drying technique. This paper introduces a new kind of patent technique adopted by Czech National Archives, microwave drying and sterilization technique, which can greatly shorten the cycle of books' drying treatment, process of books, and has a better application prospect.

Italian government attaches great importance to the protection of historical l literature heritage, and establishes strict organizations and stipulations in the protection mechanisms, laws and regulations, funds input, personnel training, and protection technology, etc. This paper introduces the origins and main collection agencies of Italy’s ancient books, expounds the general situation of main collection agencies in Italy, and analyzes the reference significance of Italy’s literature protection to China.
