Objective To explore the construction and application of cloud-based healthcare information system (CHIS).Methods The process of CHIS employment and implementation for primary-level medical and healthcare institutions was elaborated by the example of a city after the analysis and comparison of mode difference between traditional and cloud construction.Results CHIS integrated regional medical resources and realized integrated application of medical and public healthcare resources,mobile integration of regional operation and continuous innovation in construction mode,and facilitated uniformed management,high-efficiency running and maintenance as well as business development.Conclusion CHIS contributes to enhancing medical inforrnatization in primary institutions,promoting continuous medical innovation and innovating medical informatization mode.

Objective: To expand the functions of the new version of integrated medical workstation, optimize the workflow, improve the usability of the system and maximize the medical quality of the hospital. Methods: According to the actual situation of the hospital, with the cooperation with factory engineers, the mode of integration of information systems of the hospital and the integrated medical workstation is deeply explored. Results: No.1 Military Medical Project Resident Doctor Workstation, nurse workstation and other system functions are integrated and optimized. At the same time the integration of LIS, PACS, ECG, rational drug use and other systems is realized. Conclusion: The application of the new version of integrated medical workstation is deeply explored. By optimizing the system process and integrating various kinds of information application systems, the work efficiency of medical personnel and the medical quality of hospital can be greatly improved.

Grassroots healthcare institutions (GHIs) are the smallest administrative levels of medical institutions, where most patients access health services. The latest report from the National Bureau of Statistics of China showed that 96.04 % of 950,297 medical institutions in China were at the grassroots level in 2012, including county-level hospitals, township central hospitals, community health service centers, and rural clinics. In developing countries, these institutions are facing challenges involving a shortage of funds and talent, inconsistent medical standards, inefficient information sharing, and difficulties in management during the adoption of health information technologies (HIT). Because of the necessity and gravity for GHIs, our aim is to provide hospital information services for GHIs using Cloud computing technologies and service modes. In this medical scenario, the computing resources are pooled by means of a Cloud-based Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) to serve multiple GHIs, with different hospital information systems dynamically assigned and reassigned according to demand. This paper is concerned with establishing a Cloud-based Hospital Information Service Center to provide hospital information software as a service (HI-SaaS) with the aim of providing GHIs with an attractive and high-performance medical information service. Compared with individually establishing all hospital information systems, this approach is more cost-effective and affordable for GHIs and does not compromise HIT performance.
