Objective To create a prosthetic abdominal aortic aneurysm in dogs and then determine its biological function and biocompatibility,so as to provide an animal model for the experimental study of abdominal aortic aneurysm.Methods Two types of artificial blood vessels(29 mm and 6 mm in diameter) were anastomosed with 1-0 suture to fabricate a fusiform prosthetic aneurysm that was then interposed in the abdominal aorta of dog.The biological function and biocompatibility of the graft were detected 5 months after operation.Results The success rate of model establishment was 76.9%(10/13).he whole operating time was(2±0.5) h,in which the vessel anastomotic time was(50±12) min.Five months later,the blood flow in prosthetic aneurysm was patent,and there was no bleeding in the body or blood clots in the lumen of the prosthetic aneurysm.The outer layer of prosthetic aneurysm was enclosed by soft tissue and the inner layer of the prosthetic aneurysm was covered with vascular endothelial cells.Conclusions This prosthetic abdominal aortic aneurysm has satisfactory biological function and biocompatibility,and this animal model can be used for experimental study of abdominal aortic aneurysm.
Objective To evaluate the compatible stability of Rhubarb Injection with Folium Perillae Injection at room temperature. Methods After Folium Perillae injection and Rhubarb injection were prepared,quality control was conducted according to the"Pharmacopeia of China 2005". Appearance,absorbability value,pH value and particles of mixture of the two injections within 6h were detected by ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer,pH meter and microscope. Results No significant change was observed in appearance,particles,pH value and absorbability value of the mixture at room temperature. Conclusion Rhubarb injection mixed with Folium Perillae injection has good stability and the two injections can be mixed to use.
Objective Intimal hyperplasia after bypass surgery is closely related with the flow pattern in bypassed artery,which is the main cause of surgery failure.In order to improve the flow pattern structure and offer an optimization design,an axis-deviated arterial bypass(ADAB) methods was designed and computational numerical simulation of flow patterns was conducted.Methods Sixteen dogs were randomly divided into two groups:the axis-deviated arterial bypass group and conventional arterial bypass(CAB) group.Geometry data of the bypassed vessels were measured before and after surgery.Blood pressure and blood flow volume at the proximal and distal anastomosis were determined after bypass surgery.Flow structures in the bypassed vessels were simulated using FLUENT 6.2 software.Results The proximal and distal anastomosis was not in the same plane in ADAB group.In CAB group,the vortex flow along the floor of the host artery opposite the anastomotic junction turns into two symmetrical helical structures that possess the typical characteristics of the Dean-type flow pattern.There exists a rather low wall shear stress area around the flow stagnation point that locates approximately at the middle of the host artery floor opposite the bypass junction.In ADAB group,an apparent swirling flow occurs immediately when the fluid enters the host artery and moves along the floor of the host artery with its strength intact.The swirling flow created in axis-deviated bypass model significantly altered the overall flow pattern in the host artery,eliminated the low wall shear stress zone and enhanced the wall shear stress along the floor of the host artery.Axis-deviated arterial bypass could induce a swirling flow in the bypassed host artery.Conclusion Axis-deviated arterial bypass may create a swirling flow,increasing the blow flow volume and wall shear stress in the distal anastomoses.

Objective: To explore the effects of Folium Perillae injection on blood parameters after vascular bypass surgery in dogs.Method: Twenty hybridization dogs were randomly divided into high,middle,low dosage groups(1 434 mg/kg,478 mg/kg,159 mg/kg)and control.The common carotid artery was reconstructed with jugular vein from the same side by 45° bypass vascular surgery.Folium Perillae injection was intravenously administrated from brachiocephalic vein daily for 3 weeks.The blood parameters were detected at the 0,1,2,and 3 weeks after drug administration.Results: Compared with the control group,low,medium and high dosage of Folium Perillae injection could significantly decrease the whole blood viscosity and the whole blood reductive viscosity at low shear rate(10 s-1),erythrocyte aggregation index and erythrocyte electrophoresis index(P<0.05 or P<0.01).High dosage of Folium Perillae injection could significantly decrease the whole blood viscosity and the whole blood reductive viscosity at middle shear rate(60 s-1)(P<0.05),but low and middle dosage of Folium Perillae injection had no significant effects on the whole blood viscosity and the whole blood reductive viscosity at medium shear rate(60 s-1)(P>0.05).Low,middle and high dosage of Folium Perillae injection had no significant effects on hematocrit,plasma viscosity,erythrocyte rigidity index,the whole blood viscosity and the whole blood reductive viscosity at high shear rate(150 s-1).Conclusions: Folium Perillae injection could significantly improve the hemorrheological characteristics of dogs after vascular bypass surgery.
Objective To investigate the effects of ePTFE cuff on arterialization of vein after bypass surgery in dogs. Methods Thirty-six healthy dogs were randomly divided into 2 groups ( n = 18 in each group). The implanted veins in experimental group were enclosed by ePTFE, and that of the control group were not enclosed. Common carotid artery was reconstructed with ipsilateral external jugular vein. Animals were sacrificed at 2, 6 and 10w postoperatively, respectively. The vein graft was separated and using pressure perfused by formalin. The explanted vein was cut at the middle, then the proximal segment was divided into two segments, the segment near the anastomosis was as "a" segment, the other was " b" segment. Segments a and b were sliced into 3 mm sections, respectively. Thickness of the vascular wall was analyzed and measured. Results In control group, basic value of lateral wall thickness of the a segment was (0. 46 ± 0.09) mm, and it increased to (0. 64 ±0.06) ,( 2.20 ±0.51 ),( 3.23±0. 3 8 ) mm, respectively, at 2 , 6 and 10w. Basic value of medial wall thickness of the b segment was ( 0. 46 ± 0. 09 ) mm, whichincreased to( 0. 59 ±0.05) , ( 2. 46 ±0. 41) , ( 2. 01 ±0. 11) mm, respectively at 2 , 6 and 10w. In experimental group, basic value of the lateral wall thickness of the a segment was (0.41 ±0.09) mm, and the value was (0. 75 ± 0. 22 ) , ( 1. 31 ± 0. 21 ) mm, respectively, at 6 and 10w. Basic value of the medial wall thickness of the b segment was (0.41 ± 0. 09 ) mm, which was ( 0. 70 ± 0. 04 ) , ( 1. 24 ± 0.28) mm, respectively, at 6 and lOw. Compared with the control group, the vessel wall thickness in experimental group was decreased significantly ( P < 0. 01 ) . Conclusions ePTFE cuff can retard the arterialization process of implanted vein.
