Increasing water pollution caused by dye effluents from the textile industry necessitates the development of more efficient photocatalytic materials for pollutant degradation. This study aims to synthesize a composite material based on the Metal-Organic Framework (MOF), UiO-66. UiO-66 was incorporated with bentonite (BNT) and titanium dioxide (TiO₂) to enhance adsorption capacity and accelerate the photodegradation of methyl orange (MO) under UV light. Two composites with 15% TiO₂ and varying BNT concentrations of 5% and 10% were synthesized, namely TiO2/BNT(5)/UiO and TiO2/BNT(10)/UiO, respectively. The obtained materials were characterized using XRD, FTIR, SEM-EDX, and UV-DRS. The XRD pattern confirmed the successful synthesis by the appearance of characteristic UiO-66 peaks at 2θ = 7.29°, 8.47°, and 25.66°. The TiO2/BNT(5)/UiO composite exhibited an octahedral morphology typical of UiO-66, with uniformly distributed BNT and TiO₂ particles on the surface, as confirmed by EDX analysis. The incorporation of BNT and TiO₂ was able to reduce the band gap, resulting in an enhanced UV light absorption. Adsorption tests revealed that the TiO2/BNT(5)/UiO composite exhibited the highest adsorption capacity of 89.52 mg/g at an optimum contact time of 50 min, as predicted by the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Langmuir isotherm. Photodegradation tests revealed that the TiO2/BNT(5)/UiO composite achieved an optimum degradation efficiency of 95.37% within 105 min of irradiation, following a first-order kinetic model. This study provides new insights for developing a stable and efficient MOF-based photocatalyst through clay and semiconductor modification.
Employee thriving, conceptualized as the joint experience of learning and vitality, has become an important organizational outcome associated with personal resources, proactive behaviors, and leadership. Although research has increasingly recognized positive family-to-work spillover, less attention has been paid to the specific behavioral process through which family-derived positive affect is associated with employee thriving, particularly in collectivist settings where family relationships play a central role. This study employed a quantitative cross-sectional design to examine the relationship between family–work affect and employee thriving, with exploration as a mediating mechanism and ambidextrous leadership as a moderating condition. Survey data were collected from 510 employees working in Indonesian service and manufacturing organizations and analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. Family–work affect was positively associated with both exploration and employee thriving. Exploration mediated the relationship between family–work affect and thriving. Ambidextrous leadership was positively associated with exploration and thriving and strengthened the relationship between family–work affect and thriving. However, its moderating effect on the relationship between family–work affect and exploration was not supported. This study extends the literature by demonstrating that exploration functions as an important behavioral pathway through which family-derived positive affect is associated with employee thriving. It also broadens the application of ambidextrous leadership by highlighting its relevance for employee well-being rather than performance alone and provides evidence from an Indonesian collectivist context, where research on thriving remains relatively limited. The findings offer cautious guidance for organizations: family-supportive practices, realistic opportunities for exploration, and ambidextrous leadership development may support employee thriving, but these recommendations should be interpreted in light of the modest explanatory power and very small indirect-effect sizes. The findings do not directly measure sustainable workplace behavior or SDG indicators. They are more appropriately interpreted as indirect evidence that learning, vitality, and supportive leadership may be consistent with the decent-work orientation of SDG 8, rather than as direct evidence of sustainability outcomes.
This study investigates the structure–property relationships of sodium acetate–modified Canna edulis ker. starch (md-CEkS) films plasticized with sorbitol–glycerol co-plasticizer ratios of 1:0, 3:1, 1:1, 1:3, and 0:1 (w/w, relative to dry md-CEkS). Sodium acetate modification induces partial substitution and ionic association of starch hydroxyl groups, reducing excessive hydrophilicity and creating a tunable polymer matrix. Film properties were evaluated in terms of mechanical performance, optical transparency, moisture permeability, crystallinity, hydrogen bonding, and biodegradability. Increasing glycerol content decreased tensile strength (from 16.15 ± 0.64 to 12.49 ± 0.13 MPa) while increasing elongation at break (from 17.6 ± 1.9
Indonesia has a high level of vulnerability to hydrometeorological disasters, especially flash floods that require a rapid response to minimize the impact of losses. This study aims to classify the severity of flood impacts in the Sumatra and Aceh region by integrating Twitter/X social media data and Geographic Information System (GIS) analysis. The research methodology began with the collection of textual data from Twitter which was then processed through the preprocessing stage and classified using the Naïve Bayes model and Support Vector Machine (SVM). The results of this text classification are then integrated into the GIS analysis using spatial weighting techniques to determine impact zoning. The test results showed that both provided outstanding performance in classifying disaster data with an accuracy rate of 77.18% for NB and 91.65% for SVM models. Through GIS integration, this study succeeded in mapping the distribution of affected areas into heavy, medium, and light categories visually and measurably. This hybrid approach has proven to be effective in extracting crisis information in real-time, so that it can be a decision-support instrument for relevant authorities in determining resource allocation priorities and emergency response strategies that are more accurate and efficient.
