Hearing people often feel insecure when communicating with deaf people because they don't know how to proceed. They often hold an essentialist view of these individuals, assuming they are all the same. This conception harbors prejudices against deaf people and sign language. This article seeks to deconstruct the binary perspective of normality, as the former are called, while the latter are considered abnormal, deficient, and, within this approach, users of a mere language. Based on this paradigm shift, the following presents different profiles of deaf people, listing the strategies that should be used when communicating with each of these profiles.
Television, an institution that forms a large part of the Brazilian collective imagination, is being influenced by the digital as a universe of technical devices in which old media adapt to new conditions in order to survive in combination with other media species, new formats and logics that redesign accelerate this system. Through bibliographical and documentary research plus interviews with 10 TV journalists in the country, our methodological path supports the attempt to understand the expectation of the so called DTV Mais, technically TV 3.0 as a public communication policy that, in 2025, arrives late in order to resume the idea another abolishment of inclusion and interaction between station TVS and viewers just like happens on internet. The hybrid TV arrives in a country of social contrasts such as the news desert and the lack of broad coverage of digital television signals. Still as a result of digital technologies, the use of smartphones, with the Mojo, has influenced the work of TV journalists in Brazil where the impression created among this category is that the technological resource has become a source of capital savings leading to precariousness and not for the purpose of complementary language to the deontology of television journalism, as occurs mainly in Europe.
This article investigates General Artificial Intelligence in light of Gilbert Simondon's philosophy of technology, highlighting hypertelia as an ethical risk intrinsic to the trajectory of contemporary technical objects. By mobilizing Simondon's distinction between abstract and concrete technical objects, the analysis proposes that AI should not be understood as a neutral instrument, but as a reality in ontogenetic becoming, co-constituted in relation to humans and the world. Narrow artificial intelligences, although highly specialized and efficient in limited domains, reveal their impotence when confronted with unforeseen contexts, evidencing a technical closure that blocks broader processes of individuation, while at the same time displaying greater openness to external demands, such as human intervention. General Artificial Intelligence, on the other hand, though still largely a virtual and speculative horizon, emerges as a promise of greater plasticity and concreteness, providing a more sophisticated internal integration while simultaneously closing itself off from external needs. The results indicate that the ethical issue does not lie solely in technological progress itself, but in the modes of individuation that may foster or inhibit the ongoing concretization of technical beings in relation to human beings and to the Earth itself. Thus, a relational and vigilant ethics is advocated: relational, in recognizing the co-evolution between humans and machines; vigilant, in resisting hypertelic tendencies that lead to sterile over-specialization and the loss of creative potential. This reflection contributes to rethinking the place of the subject in the technical milieu, suggesting that ethics should orient AI not toward excluding hyper-specialization, but toward open individuation.
The text presented emerged from meetings and discussions held in the History of Education and Memory Research Group - GEM, and aims to analyze the trajectory of professor Nicanor Palhares Sa, from 1984 to 2014, and his work at the Federal University of Mato Grosso - UFMT, and Postgraduate Program in Education PPGE/UFMT. The chosen space was the UFMT Cuiab & aacute; campus, starting in 1984, the year Nicanor Palhares S & aacute;joined and the final cut in 2014, the year in which the professor retired. The text falls within the historiographical bias of Cultural History connected to the History of Education. Methodologically, the research is bibliographic and documentary, with a micro-history approach. Dialogue was established with Jaques Le Goff (1990), Peter Burke (2005, 2011), Roger Chartier (1990), Carlo Ginzburg (1989), Jacques Revel (1998), Giovanni Levi (2000), Ronaldo Vainfas (1997), Jos & eacute; D' Assun & ccedil;& atilde;o Barros (2005, 2007), Sandra Jatahy Pesavento (2014), Marc Bloch (2001), Suely Ferreira Deslandes (2003), Antoine Prost (2008). The research is in its initial phase, however, one of the results that was already possible to verify was the participation of Nicanor Palhares in the construction of the Master's and Doctorate course of the Postgraduate Program, Institute of Education at UFMT.
This work seeks to present part of the results of a doctoral research on the theoretical deepening and production of Investigative Experiments with Natural Sciences teachers in Elementary School and High School teachers, Bachelors in Natural Sciences and Pedagogy. The trainings were carried out in a hybrid way using the Google Meet platform and implementation in school contexts. The course took place in the first semester of 2023 with synchronous and asynchronous meetings. During training, teachers deepened their knowledge about psychological, pedagogical and epistemological aspects of Investigative Experimentation in Science Teaching, designed and applied experiments in their Basic Education classes. After application, in a training group the results were shared and debated. The data from this research were analyzed qualitatively and were produced during meetings and plenary presentations on the applications of the experiments. As a result, it is pointed out that the research can bring contributions to the training of teachers participating in the training, transforming their teaching methodologies in the day-to-day life of the school. The Investigative Experiments designed and applied by teachers were analyzed based on a priori categories, namely: (1) Basic Education Stage for which the Experiment was designed; (2) Questions prepared by teachers for the monitoring form; (3) Diffi culties highlighted by teachers in the preparation of Investigative Experiments; (4) Types of plenary sessions for the presentation of Investigative Experiments. The analysis showed that four experiments were designed for Early Childhood Education, one experiment for the Initial Years of Elementary School, five experiments for the Final Years of Elementary School and two experiments for High School. After the plenary presentations about the experience carried out, it was possible to see through the reports of the teachers in training that the use of the Investigative Experimentation methodology was positive for the students' learning process and has the potential to be applied in the school context.
This is a qualitative and narrative research in the autobiographical modality, whose focus is the study of Mathematics in Basic Education. In this sense, the first author chose and assumed the role of teacher/researcher of this work, narrating his experiences and memories in a self- narrative writing, supported by the research of his own practice as a Basic Education teacher and as a researcher, by thinking/practicing the teaching of Mathematics. The educational scenario of analysis is guided by the research question: What did I learn empirically in the circumstances of learning, training, research and teaching, within the scope of Mathematics teaching, capable of contributing to thinking/practicing Mathematics teaching at the elementary level of Basic Education? The narrated experiences, the research corpus, are analyzed based on an interpretative analysis in an interpretative-comprehensive reading. We aim to understand learning developed through learning, training, research and teaching experiences, within the scope of Mathematics teaching, capable of contributing to thinking/practicing Mathematics teaching with different teaching strategies. Narrative questionnaires were used for their teachers as a data collection instrument. The analysis their teachers' narratives and their school notebooks made us systematize the research results obtained as support for their memories contained in their self narrative and in the text of their teachers' narratives. Regarding the teaching Mathematics, the first author had a completely traditional training and focused on the formation of the thematic unit of numbers.
This article is the result of research conducted by the Research Group on Inclusion and Haptic Social Communication (GEPICSH). It aims to demonstrate the characteristics of haptic social communication as a possible form of tactile- kinesthetic communication that can be structured with language aspects. In this text, a parallel is drawn between the Portuguese language, Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), and haptic social communication, based on the works of Vilela (2018; 2022); Goldfeld (2002); Pizio and Quadros (2024); Trevisan (2012); Volpato (2023); Le Breton (2019); Palmer and Lahtinen (1994; 2005). The chosen methodology was narrative research, following the assumptions of Clandinin and Connelly (2015) and Creswell (2010). The narratives were sourced from meetings conducted by GEPICSH. The results indicate fertile ground for further research and highlight the need for more studies focusing on this topic.
The study begins by recognizing the value of an interdisciplinary perspective from the Social and Human Sciences in Health, both in establishing research in the field and in contribution to the understanding of the health-disease-care processes. The hypothesis suggests that the event emerges as an important element for research in this context, as it provides a powerful element to the construction of knowledge that values and considers the relational dimension of subjective experiences, which are central to the study objects in this field. This theoretical essay adopts the notion of event as interpreted through Jacques Derrida's work and other authors who expand and deepen this concept. With this premise, it seeks to relate this notion to the research path (method) that connects health to the social and human sciences, focusing on three simultaneous or complementary topics: Investigative Composites, Turbulence in Knowledge Production, and Performative Gestures.
This article aims to bring discussions and insights on continuous teacher training and the (self-)formation of literacy educators working in the early years of basic education and in Youth and Adult Education (EJA). We adopted narrative research and studies with/in/from everyday practices as our methodological and epistemicpolitical approach. We present reflections woven into our doctoral research with our conceptual characters, based on the questions and doubts they raise-be they authors, documents, school routines, or their "thinking practitioners." We engage in dialogue with historical documents, public policies, and the educational networks that we form and that form us. We understand literacy as an essential component of the right to education and discuss it based on international organizations and certain literacy policies and programs implemented in Brazil. The Youth and Adult Education modality is addressed by recognizing the exclusionary traits that characterize its audience. Our studies indicate that continuous training and (self-)formation of literacy educators are interrelated with their experiences, the "knowledge-practices" woven into school routines, and their academic knowledge. The biographical (self-) approach and narratives, as a methodology, can render these formations visible as an epistemology distinct from technical rationality.
The Integrative Project (PI) at SENAC S & atilde;o Paulo is a pedagogical strategy aimed at promoting curricular integration and the development of critical and reflective skills in technical health courses. This qualitative research, based on Social Constructivism, explored the perceptions of 24 teachers regarding the implementation and challenges of the PI. Using Automated Content Analysis with the IRaMuTeQ software, the results revealed that teachers consider the PI a crucial tool for technical education, although they face significant challenges such as students' limited understanding of the project and diffi culties in interdisciplinary collaboration. Findings indicate the need for greater integration of interdisciplinarity and self-assessment practices to foster deeper critical thinking among students.
